Dear fellow Loyolites ,
Greetings from the Executive Committee of LOBA for 2017-18.
Over the last three years, LOBA has been trying to chart a new course in an effort to be more meaningful to the fraternity, and to society as a whole. The first step was in recognising the excellence within ourselves and felicitating them on a platform that they would cherish. Thus the Global Leadership Award (GLA). The first two editions of the GLA were smash hits, with a Young Achiever Award (YAA) category added last year.
It is now time to seek nominations for the 3rd edition of GLA and the YAA.
As was done last year, we seek nominations from you to one or both categories for your batch mate/senior/junior. Please send the filled in nomination forms to us at the earliest. These will be vetted by the Executive Committee and then handed to a three member committee comprising the Principal and two persons of eminence. This three member jury will deliberate and intimate to the LOBA President their decision. The winners will be announced at the Back To School event on October 02, 2017.
There have been suggestions regarding a system that allows the members also to participate in choosing the winners. We appreciate the sentiment and hope that this can become possible next year through our new website and with the registered alumni on it voting.
We also seek your feedback and suggestions on the entire process of nominations and selection of winners. Do send us your feedback to the LOBA Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org by 19 Aug, 2017.
Meanwhile, please send in nominations for GLA and YAA. The nomination form has been attached along with this email. Please forward the nominations also to the LOBA Secretary at email@example.com. The last date for receiving nominations is Sep 1, 2017.
Last year, we received only a handful of nominations. Surely such an illustrious alumni can generate more potential candidates. Please note that the unsuccessful nominees of last year remain in contention for this year too.
